This series began as an experiment in stripping everything away \u2014 no location, no story, no context beyond what a person carries in their face. I worked with a single large softbox and a seamless white background, keeping the setup identical for every session so that the only variable was the subject. Each sitting lasted about two hours, long enough for the initial self-consciousness to dissolve and something more unguarded to come through. What I was looking for, and what I think I found in some of these frames, is the expression that exists in the space between poses \u2014 unheld, unperformed.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
