Walking through Tbilisi’s tangled old town, I spent three weeks approaching strangers in courtyards, markets, and tea houses, asking if I could photograph them where they stood. I worked entirely with natural light \u2014 the city’s golden afternoon sun and the deep shadow of its narrow balconied streets became my studio. Most of my subjects spoke no English and I spoke no Georgian, so everything was communicated through gesture, patience, and the moment someone finally relaxed and forgot about the camera. What emerged was a portrait of a city that feels both ancient and restless, carried in the faces of the people who call it home.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
